Our village, Pomerols (34810) has approximately 3000 inhabitants and has all the charm of a typical wine grower’s village in the South of France. There are a handful of smaller shops and businesses such as a supermarket, a bakkery, a newspaper shop, a snack shop and a café. There are also tennis courts and, of course, the local wine cooperative which is one of the largest in the region.

There’s plenty to do!! There are several larger towns and cities in the area such as Montpellier, Nimes, Arles and Beziers. These all offer their rich histories, quaint streets, excellent shops and fantastic restaurants. There are also other great destinations in the area such as Carcassonne, Aigues Mortes, St Guilhem le Desert, Le Pont du Diable, La Grotte de Clamouse and Pezenas with its superb Saturday market. For those looking for more sporting activities there are biking routes along the stunning Canal du Midi, walking trails through the Cirque de Moureze and canoeing in Roquebrun to name but a few. There are many great beaches in the area including Cap d’Agde, Sete, Marseillan and Vias and wonderful markets full of local specialities in Agde and Meze amongst others. |
